New Visions

Tuesday - October 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
"New Visions"  Arts on Grand exhibit runs from October 24 to November 18,
and showcases the talents of four young artists:  Lily Nolin, Megan Wassom,
Olivia Fletcher and Austin Cody Rodrigues.  Lily, Megan and Olivia were art
students in Spencer High School and Austin comes to us from Sioux City.

Each young artist brings a fresh perspective to the Gallery.  Austin says,
"My artwork reflects my love of color and texture. I find myself most
comfortable in the abstract world.  It allows me to break down the
traditional walls and freely express myself."  Megan Wassom brings a series
of paintings depicting lessons learned in her life.  "My goal as both an
artist and a human being is to help people - to make a difference and leave
an impact in some shape, way or form."   Lily Norlin is now a student at
ILCC.  Lily paints because she can! It gives her a positive outlet for her
creative expressions. As a student  at Iowa State, Olivia Fletcher is
studying art and design.  She hopes to travel and see the world. "I yearn to
understand the various ways of living that others may experience, and bring
out people's potential."

The reception for "New Visions" is Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 2:30pm to
4:30pm.  Refreshments will be served.  Friends, relatives and classmates of
these talented young people are welcome to join the general public to view
the exhibit.  The exhibit is generously sponsored by US Bank in Spencer,
Iowa.
