Kansas City-based jewelry maker Lynette Fisk will offer a class in beginning wire work techniques from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, May 19, at Arts on Grand. The focus of this class will be on "memory necklaces."
Students will learn how to bend and twist simple wire to join found objects, charms and dangles into cool jewelry. They will learn techniques that involve connecting with wire, such as basic loop, wrapped loop, spiral, wire clasp. The end result will be a necklace with beads and charms. Metal shapes can also be drilled to add holes.
